Personal Information

Expo LX allows users to display profile information to other Expo users. The administrator can specify the default profile information that should be displayed on each Expo site as well as what profile information Expo users can display on their Expo sites.

 

To manage the personal information settings:

1. Click the System Admin tab.
2. Click the Manage Expo LX link.
3. Click the Manage Settings link.
4. Select the default profile information that should appear on users' Expo sites.

Profile Image

The profile image is the image that appears with a user's profile on his/her Expo home page.

 

 

Display Profile Image

1.   Select whether the profile image should appear by default and whether users should opt out or opt in to display the image with their Expo profile. The options for this field are:

• Required
• Opt Out *default
• Opt In
• Disabled

 

Image Caption

A caption is displayed below the profile image.

2.  Select one of any of the personal information fields to appear as the caption. The default value is the user's first name.

 

Image Size

3.  Specify the width and height for the profile image. Profile images uploaded by users will be resized to fit the dimensions specified here.

4.  Specify the maximum file size for the profile image.

5.  Upload a default image to appear as Expo users' profile images prior to customization.

Thumbnail Image

The thumbnail image is the small image that appears in the sidebar on a user's Expo Directory along with a link to their Expo site.

1.  Select the default settings for the thumbnail image.

2.  Similar to the profile image, specify the width, height, and maximum file size for the thumbnail image.

3.  Upload a default image to appear on users' Expo LX directories prior to customization.

User Images

Administrators can draw Expo LX users' profile images from external sources. If your institution already stores images of all members on another server, you can specify the location on that server from which Expo should retrieve the profile and thumbnail images.

 

1.  Select the Allow users to upload their own profile images checkbox if Expo LX users should be allowed to replace the default image with their own image.

Profile Fields

Users can select any of a number of personal information fields to display as their profile on their Expo sites. For each possible field, you can select whether the field should be displayed by default and the modify the field's label.

 

 

Display Profile Field

1.  Select from the following options for each profile field:

• Required
• Opt In *default
• Opt Out
• Disabled

 

Label

2.  Specify the label that should be displayed to end users for each personal information field.

3.  If the label should be displayed in the profile, select the Display label checkbox.
