Administrators can choose whether or not the learning management system course quotas should be enforced in Podcast LX.
By default, disk quotas that have been set up for course in the system will not be enforced in Podcast LX. However, administrators can select to enforce the course disk quotas for a course's podcast feed.
When this is done, any episodes added to Podcast feeds in courses where quotas have been applied will be included in the quota calculations. If a user attempts to add a new episode to a course feed when the course quotas has been exceeded, the user will be notified that the course has exceeded its quota, and the episode cannot be added.
Note: Blackboard determines the amount of space used towards course quotas with a scheduled task that typically runs every night. This means that a course's quota could be exceeded, but instructors can still add new content to the course up until the point when the scheduled task runs and determines that the course quota has been exceeded. Since Podcast LX quotas rely on Blackboard's course quota calculations, it should be noted that faculty may be able to add Podcast episodes to a course even after the course quota has been exceeded. Once the scheduled task runs, they will no longer be able to new episodes.
In some cases, administrators may want to enforce course quotas for most courses but make exceptions for some courses.
