Where can we find explanation of things like the difference between Save and Save and Exit.

We have had situations where several students were editing the same Personal Journal. When each finished they clicked the Save button, instead of Save and Exit. A number of these students were unable to save their work, and received the error message that the system is Busy. I can find no documentation regarding how the system avoids conflicts when several students edit a Personal Journal or a Blog at the same time. I also have found no documentation regarding the differences between Save and Save and Exit.
